The Department of Psychology was established in 2020 within the Faculty of Literature of Munzur University. The language of education is Turkish. As a result of four years of education and training, graduates of the department receive a "Psychology Undergraduate Program" diploma and earn the title of "Psychologist". Our department, which has started its activities by opening the Departments of Experimental Psychology, Applied Psychology, Social Psychology and Developmental Psychology, will receive its first students at the undergraduate level in the 2020-2021 academic year.

Our young but dynamic Psychology Department aims to educate psychologists who are effective, have the ability to empathize, have strong communication skills, have self-awareness, have developed emotional intelligence, self-control, have a positive self-perception, can competently apply the knowledge they have acquired within the framework of ethical values, have the ability to question and produce; follow new developments in the field of psychology knowledge, meet the needs of the country and the world, and contribute to the solution of existing problems.

While the first year of the curriculum consists of compulsory courses, elective courses gain more and more weight starting from the second year. (Course Curriculum can be accessed from the Student menu.) Thus, it is aimed that students take courses that are suitable for their individual orientation in the fields they are interested in and tend to specialize. In the fourth year of the undergraduate program, students have the opportunity to write an undergraduate thesis in their field of interest under the supervision of a faculty member.
Munzur University sends students to European countries under the Erasmus Student Exchange Program. In addition, within the scope of the Mevlana Exchange Program, it allows student exchange to universities abroad and to universities within the country with the Farabi Exchange Program.

Graduates of the Department of Psychology can work in many different fields such as health, education, industry and industry organizations, social service institutions, research centers, in the public and private sectors. Provided that they are successful in the relevant exams (KPSS), they are employed in various units of the Ministry of Family and Social Policies; hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health and Public Health of Turkey; courthouses, courts, prisons and detention houses and similar institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Justice; Provincial and District Police Departments affiliated to the Ministry of Internal Affairs; hospitals and Guidance and Counseling Center units of the Turkish Armed Forces. Graduates who receive "Formation" education during or after their undergraduate education can work as Guidance and Counseling Teachers and Psychology Teachers in educational institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. In addition, provided that they meet certain criteria (YDS, ALES) of the relevant institutions, they can work as "Research Assistants" in universities after undergraduate or postgraduate education, and as "Lecturers" after graduating from graduate school.

In the private sector, they can work in positions such as copywriter, marketing specialist, etc. in media organizations, responsible manager in private kindergartens and nurseries; they can practice their profession with the title of 'psychologist' in institutions such as special education centers, nursing homes, care centers. They can work in the "human resources" departments of private companies, factories, institutions and organizations; they can work as experts and assistant experts in advertising, public relations, marketing, finance sector, banking, information technology, security companies, electronic business environments.
