Munzur University Faculty of Letters, Department of History started education in 2013-2014 academic year.

The aim of the department is to train competent historians who are fluent in a foreign language, who can use computer and similar communication technologies, who have a command of general world, European, Ottoman and Turkish history in addition to the methodical knowledge required by a contemporary historian, who can comprehend the dimensions of historiography / historiography in Turkey and in the world, who have developed research skills, who can use archival languages and sources; history teachers and educators with ideals, who believe in development, and intellectual people who can comprehend the problems of their age and produce solutions.
