ABOUT US

The aim of the department's education is to train engineers equipped with fundamental theoretical knowledge, who have developed self-learning skills, can observe, question, think analytically, produce creative solutions, make decisions, embrace ethical values, possess advanced communication skills, and work effectively in teams. Civil engineers, who bear significant responsibilities in creating a sustainable world and improving the quality of life, will undoubtedly become more environmentally conscious, innovative, protective of natural resources, and successful in risk management through education that enables them to adapt to a globalized world. The civil engineering profession encompasses collaboration and interdisciplinary approaches in areas such as structures, geotechnics, materials, hydraulics, transportation engineering, and construction management. The department's curriculum, further enriched with elective courses, is designed to reflect these features in a layered and continuously feedback-driven structure.

The Civil Engineering Department of Munzur University, aiming to train visionary civil engineers, collaborates with universities in our country and abroad, especially in European Union countries, utilizing programs that facilitate faculty and student exchanges. Additionally, the department accepts not only domestic but also qualified international students at the undergraduate level.

Some graduates of the department work in public and private sectors on the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, repair, and renewal of engineering systems such as structures, transportation, energy, and irrigation. Others continue their careers in academia.

With the establishment of our university under Article 102 added to Law No. 2809 on the Organization of Higher Education Institutions, dated 28/03/1983, and Law No. 5765, dated 22/05/2008, the Faculty of Engineering was established, followed by the Civil Engineering Department.
