About Us

The Eastern Anatolia Region offers a great potential for aquaculture research in terms of its freshwater resources and unique species. Munzur University Faculty of Fisheries, which was established with the aim of bringing this potential to the country's economy, ensuring its sustainable use, carrying out the necessary scientific studies and training qualified manpower, continues to rapidly increase its activities and success momentum since its establishment.

Students who graduate from the Faculty of Fisheries can work as academicians at universities and as engineers and experts in general directorates and research centers affiliated with ministries. In addition to having the opportunity to establish their own businesses, they can find work as Aquaculture Engineers in the private sector, in freshwater and marine fish farming facilities, feed and net factories, fishing boats, aquaculture processing facilities, companies operating in the sector, and organizations that provide consultancy to the sector. Additionally, they will be able to obtain radio operator and shore captain certificates if they are successful in the exams they will take as a result of the additional courses they will take.

The mission of our faculty is to raise enlightened, creative, free and scientific-thinking individuals who will think on a universal scale, produce knowledge and put the produced knowledge at the service of humanity, and contribute to the development of a society that is open to contemporary, scientific and technological developments and criticism. In order to be among the leading faculties, our main goal is to turn our faculty into a research and education institution that measures scientificness on an international scale.

Our faculty aims to be an internationally recognized, preferred and accepted faculty in the field of aquaculture by prioritizing quality in education, creating an institutional culture based on participation and teamwork.
