Tunceli Vocational School first started its activities under the name of "Tunceli Vocational School" in Elazığ within Fırat University in the 1983-1984 academic year and produced its first graduates in 1985.

The college was transferred to Tunceli province in the 1987-1988 academic year.

With Law No. 5765 dated May 22, 2008, Tunceli University was established as a state university in Tunceli province, and the college was affiliated with Tunceli University. With a law enacted on August 20, 2016, the name of Tunceli University was changed to Munzur University.

The school has held a significant place as a unit offering associate degree programs since the university's founding. Tunceli Vocational School offers numerous associate degree programs in social, technical, and health fields, and the programs are listed below.

Students are placed in programs based on their BPT (Basic Proficiency Test) scores, and enrolment exceeds 90% each year. Additionally, the overall university enrolment rate for associate degree students is around 34%.
